Terms of service

These Terms of Service apply when you use the Douja Candles online store and when you buy from us. Douja Candles is an Australian small business making handmade candles. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Our Shipping Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy and Privacy Policy also apply.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other right that cannot legally be excluded.

Products

We do our best to describe and photograph our products accurately, including colours, sizes and prices. Because our candles are handmade, small variations in colour, texture, shape and finish are normal and are not faults. Colours may also look slightly different depending on your screen.

Orders

When you place an order, you are offering to buy the products in your cart. Your order is accepted when we send you an order confirmation email.

We may cancel an order if a product is unavailable, if there is an obvious error in its price or description, or if we reasonably suspect fraud. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we will refund the full amount paid for the cancelled items.

Prices and payment

All prices are shown in Australian dollars (AUD). Shipping costs are shown at checkout before you pay. Payment is taken when you place your order and is processed securely through our checkout. We may change our prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed.

Shipping and delivery

We currently ship within Australia only. Shipping costs, processing times and delivery estimates are set out in our Shipping Policy. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by carrier delays, public holidays, weather or other events outside our control. Please check your delivery address carefully before ordering.

Damaged, faulty or incorrect items

If something arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible. Our Returns & Refunds Policy explains what to do.

Cancellations, returns and refunds

We do not offer change-of-mind returns or refunds. Cancellations, returns and refunds are handled under our Returns & Refunds Policy and the Australian Consumer Law.

Candle safety

Please follow the safety and care instructions provided with each product. Remove all decorative accessories before lighting, burn candles on a heat-resistant surface, and never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep candles away from children, pets, drafts and anything flammable. To the extent permitted by law, Douja Candles is not responsible for damage caused by not following these instructions.

Intellectual property

All content on this website, including photographs, product designs, logos and text, belongs to Douja Candles or is used with permission. Please do not copy or reuse it without our written permission.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Douja Candles is not responsible for loss caused by misuse of our products, failure to follow product instructions, or events outside our reasonable control. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Privacy

We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on our website when you place an order applies to that order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
